Best Dressed at the Met

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala otherwise known as the Met Gala is described as the East Coast Oscars.  The red carpet rivals that of the Academy Awards but at this event, the models and fashion designers outshine the celebrities.  The entire purpose is to raise money and have a chic evening and judging by the photos, they succeeded.

Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour and Miuccia Prada both in Prada. The lobster refers back to a dress that Elsa Schiaparelli designed for the Duchess of Windsor. Gold was a popular choice for the evening.

Claire Danes with hubby Hugh Dancy just gets prettier and prettier.

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake in Prada.  A tight dress with no slit made it fun to watch her try to ascend the steps of The Met.

Doetzen Kroes

Cameron Diaz in Stella McCartney

Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe

Jessica Alba in Michael Kors

Bianca Brandolini in Dolce & Gabbana

From the back.

Leighton Meister in Marchesa. Standing behind her is one of the Marchesa designers Keren Craig who also looked amazing.

Dree Hemingway

Jessica Pare of Mad Men in L'Wren Scott

Carey Mulligan in Prada.

Designer Joseph Altyzarra with Lana Del Rey.

Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren and dark lipstick which was another trend of the evening.

Aerin Lauder in J. Mendel.

Marina Rust

Grace Coddington in Prada.

Bruno Mars also performed.

It's like looking into the sun.

Not sure what Tim Tebow was doing there but hope his prayers of meeting a model were answered.

Liking Rooney Mara's hair and dress.

I have a weird crush on Emilio Pucci designer on Peter Dundas.  Maybe it's the glasses.

Rihanna arrived late and stunning in Tom Ford.

Chuck Bass, I mean Ed Westwick.  Call me.

Cate Blanchett in Alexander McQueen.

I'm going out and buying that skincare line she reps!

Pharrell Williams who has a book out soon.

Poppy Delevingne in Chanel.

Gerard Butler. You're welcome.

L'Wren Scott and Mick Jagger.

Mario Testino shooting the shooters.

I know you are not going to like her dress but Sarah Jessica Parker is on the arm of Valentino so she wins.

Could Emily Blunt and John Krasinski be any cuter?!

Only Jenna Lyons of J.Crew could wear a jean jacket to the Met Gala.

Model Karlie Kloss in Jason Wu.

Tory Burch in Tory Burch.

Another adorable couple designer Alber Elbaz and Emma Stone in Lanvin.

Model Liu Wen in Michael Kors.

Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhullier.

Solange Knowles and Rachel Roy wearing Rachel Roy and looking stunning.

Diana Agron in Carolina Herrera. Love this color.

Designer Prabal Gurung with Greta Gerwig.

Vogue editor Hamish Bowles with the girl of the hour Lena Dunham in Wes Gordon.  If you are not watching her show Girls on HBO, you are missing out!

Another great show is GCB starring Leslie Bibb in Zac Posen.

Model Arizona Muse with designer Erdem Moraliogu.

Anna Wintour's daughter Bee Shaffer.

Gwyneth Paltrow said her stylist Elizabeth Saltzman picked out this Prada for her.  She works out hard and probably wants to show off her legs but it looked like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen.  I would have loved it if it had been a little longer.

Daokota Fanning in Louis Vuitton.

Love this color Vera Wang dress on Paula Patton.

Girls actress Allison Williams in Ralph Lauren.

Amber Heard in Zac Posen with Zac Posen.  Another gorgeous color.

And bringing up the rear literally and figuratively was Beyonce.  The red carpet was empty when she arrived and it's a good thing since her Givenchy train went on forever.

Fini.
