Marvelous Model Apartment: Part Deux

I apologize for a lack of post yesterday but things have been extremely busy and incredibly crazy to paraphrase Jonathan Safran Foer. These photos are from the second model apartment designed by Stephen Sills at The Apthorp building on the Upper West Side.  I think my favorite part has to be the kitchen.  I always gravitate toward white kitchens until I see a dark one that makes me question everything I normally love.  The dark color works especially well for a more masculine space too. And don't even get me started on those herringbone floors.  Beyond gorgeous.  Hope they make up for yesterday.  Bon Weekend!

Marvelous Model Apartment

While I was at The Apthorp recently viewing a special exhibition, interior designer Stephen Sills also gave me a tour of the model apartments he designed.  This one happens to be a bit more traditional and makes great use of all the beautiful architectural details.  He actually made it a point to convince the developer to keep as much original details as possible including mother of pearl switches which is usually unheard of today.  I'm very much an Upper East Side girl but if any building could convince me to go West, it would be The Apthorp.
