Chic at Diptyque

I love Diptyque candles and their great black and white packing.  Their black and white store design however didn't really make me want to stay and shop.  All that is about to change starting with the Bleecker Street store redesign to help celebrate the iconic brands 50th anniversary.  Christopher Jenner of Jenner Studio UK took on the challenge of merging the heritage of the brand with a sense of "French luxury."

I got a little tour of this new jewel box store and was blown away by all the details.  Many pieces were designed to play off the oval labels that you see on their candles including the amazing chandelier. While the shades were made from upside down candle holders.  On first glance, the walls just look like antiqued mirror but they are actually made up of painted scenes of New York. One of the most unique pieces are the display tables.  They were created with white Thassos marble and stainless steel with legs upholstered in a custom fabric.  The tables light up and have a beautiful glow.  All the glittering touches are softened with the use of walnut cabinetry and display shelves that were also created in the oval shape.  It is definitely a store that makes you want to linger so you can take it all in visually but the best part is that is also smells divine too!
